Lindsey Franz
Designed and painted by artist and graphic designer Lindsey Franz, the mural features the theme “Paddle IN Indiana” and depicts a kayaker traversing the river. Franz created three mural designs for the project, with two selected for immediate installation. After completing Paddle IN Indiana, Lindsey then moved upstream to the Osanamon Launch for her Fish IN Indiana mural. A video of the mural by Jake’s Aerial Photography had over 20,000 views in the first couple of days it was posted. The Osanamon launch will have a grand opening September 13th, at 11:00. The location is 1352 W 800 N Cayuga, IN 47928
Lindsey brings a wide range of creative experience to the project, including mural work, face and window painting, pet portraits, and graphic design. The mural’s theme was developed in collaboration with Vermillion County Commissioner RJ Dunavan. RJ wanted to incorporate the IN Indiana tagline which has been promoted state wide through the Indiana Destination Development Corporation and Visit Indiana website.
“We are delighted to see Vermillion County using the IN logo. The Big Vermillion River is a fantastic destination for all to enjoy”, said Amy Howell from the IDDC- Visit Indiana.

Zac Cody
Zac Cody, worked with NICHES Land Trust and the Warren County Community Foundation to determine which species should be represented. These two mural are on opposing sides of the bridge pier that goes into Big Pine Creek at Twin Bridges where Potholes Road, Hogback Road, and Twin Bridges Road come together. On the side that is visible from Hogback Road is a Midland Painted Turtle. Zac studied the movements of an actual turtle, as well as studying many photos to create a very realistic turtle. This is Zac’s largest animal painting to date at 23 feet long and 12 feet tall .
“We’re excited for the opportunity to bring more art into our community,” said Michele Stucky, Executive Director of the Warren County Community Foundation. “Art gives communities a way to share their stories, which can bring people together and help keep local culture alive.”
Zac Cody has created three murals on Big Pine Creek:
- Adult and Juvenile Bald Eagle at the 450 Bridge Public Access Site
- Midland Painted Turtle at Twin Bridges Fall Creek Gorge
- Red-headed woodpecker at Twin Bridges Fall Creek Gorge
